Overview
I had the pleasure of spending just under two years working at Firewalk Studios on their FPS called Concord. The game brought together some very unique ideas that was refreshing for an FPS gamer/dev like myself. Throughout my time at Firewalk, I have worked on various visual effects in the game. Most notable were the characters and environments. This is a game I am very proud of and thoroughly enjoyed working on. Every day was a new challenge I was able to work with some of the best developers in the industry. While Concord is no longer alive, I stand proudly by its side.
“Fire and Forget Artist”
During my time, at Firewalk Studios, I took pride in being what my lead called a "Fire and Forget Artist". A "Fire and Forget Artist" is an artist who can be relied on to take a large set of tasks and trust that they will on their own be able to produce and complete all their tasks on time with minimal to no management. On Concord, I took on full character kits from scratch under tight deadlines. I was able to facilitate interdisciplinary conversation and collaboration for solving and shipping character kits. All while also handling bugs, triaging, and completing various VFX tasks.
Characters
A majority of my time was spent on character kits. I had the responsibility of taking on a character myself and creating visual effects for the weapons, abilities, and passives. For a few characters I was brought on to help out and only worked on a few small effects. Below is a list of all the characters I was fortunate enough to create visual effects for.
